When it comes to the outdoors, Australians are spoilt for choice. We love what our backyard offers; bonfires on the beach, camping in the bush and spotting koalas on a walk through the park. We expect to be surrounded by marsupials, bask on white sands, snorkel through pristine coral reefs and trek through wild forests.
As a developed nation, we like to think we have our flora and fauna's best interests at heart - but this is not the full story.
